Preparation for the future development of the Gateway Redevelopment Area is underway with demolition of the Chevy dealership building expected mid-December. The City has contracted with Evans Landscaping to remove a heating oil tank, coordinate the disconnection of electricity from the site and perform the demolition. A chain link fence has been erected around the front and north side of the building for safety purposes. Work crews are currently preparing the site and expect to start work on the demolition of the building by Monday, December 1.
